What Exactly is Force of Nature?

Force of Nature is a multi-purpose cleaner, deodorizer & EPA registered disinfectant.

It has replaced a multitude of ready-made and homemade bottles of products throughout my home.

Instead of having a window cleaner, countertop cleaner, toilet cleaner, shower cleaner, antibacterial surface cleaner for door handles, mildew remover, odor remover, etc.… I now have one bottle.

Force of Nature is unique in that it comes as a kit that includes a base that plugs in and tiny vials of solution, plus the spray bottle to store the Force of Nature in. We will get to how Simple it is to make and use in a second, but first, another benefit of my SWAP:

My cupboards and then recycle bin aren’t filled with plastic cleaner bottles anymore.

I calculated, now that I have the Kit and Glass bottle, that it is costing me about 1$ for each bottle of the solution I make. So, it is a money-saving swap!

Eliminating toxic chemicals that I, my family, and my pets are exposed to daily is the priority, but like the GEOPRESS that saves us money by making purified water available when we are on the go, it's nice to make Simple Self Care Swaps that save us money too!

How Force of Nature Kills the Germs Without Being Toxic.

How does Force of Nature Kill the germs without being toxic?

Force of Nature works by altering the molecular structure of its solution into:

  1. The active ingredient Hypochlorous Acid – Force of Nature explained to me that Hypochlorous Acid is a type of chlorine (HOCI) that is as effective as bleach yet is non-toxic. Hypochlorous Acid is safe to use for everyone, including children and pets. Combining Hypochlorous Acid with
  2. A non-toxic concentration of 0.0000003% Sodium Hydroxide – is what makes it work. After reading Sodium Hydroxide, I had questions...looked it up and decided to reach back out to the company because I’m aware that Sodium Hydroxide is common in cleansers on the market and is toxic. It was explained to me that the difference is in the concentration. They referred me to one of their posts that explains the usual levels used in common household cleaners are toxic because they have a concentration of anywhere from 1-5%. (Linked for you in references)(4)

In all-purpose cleaners, typical concentration levels are from 1-5%, which is highly dangerous around children or anyone with asthma or allergies (and 3 million to 17 million times the concentration as in Force of Nature).” (4)

It is the altered molecular structure that creates electrolyzed water EW. Electrolyzed Water is what Force of Nature is.

“Electrolyzed water (EW) is a new type of cleaning and disinfecting agent obtained by means of electrolysis with a dilute sodium chloride solution…which is mainly used to inhibit bacterial growth and disinfect. (2)

How to Make and use Force of Nature.

  • You fill the appliance with your filtered water up to the line on the back of the bottle.
  • Twist the vial cap off and squeeze the solution into the water.
  • Plug the appliance in, and it’ll go from flashing blue light at the base of the appliance to fully flashing green (about 5 minutes). Green means it's ready.
  • Unplug the base.
  • Pour the electrolyzed water into your spray bottle, and that's it.
  • You have your cleaning solution for the next 2 weeks.

Why 2 weeks?

Because electrolyzed water has a shelf life of 2 weeks, the effectiveness diminishes.

The effect of EW (Electrolyzed Water) is also affected by many factors, including storage time. (2)

At first, I was feeling like it would be a waste if I didn’t use it in two weeks. After more than a year, I do not recall needing to discard it even once. If there is any left when the date is approaching, I look around and can easily find a surface, room, window, or appliance that needs freshening up.

Ways to Use Force of Nature

Force of Nature lists many ways to use it on its website:

  • Kitchen Counters
  • Garbage cans
  • Disinfect makeup brushes (once cleaned off).
  • Bathrooms, Sinks, Toilets, Mirrors, Tubs, Showers...
  • Place a few ounces in fresh-cut flowers for longer-lasting blooms.
  • Clean Humidifiers and Dehumidifiers.
  • Wiping down and Cleaning toys.
  • Disinfecting sponges.
  • Animal bedding and toys and accidents.
  • Sanitize doorknobs and light switches.
  • Inside the fridge.
  • Windows.
  • Clean Backpacks/Diaper bags/Lunch Boxes…
  • Yoga mats and blocks and exercise equipment.

Does Force of Nature Smell?

Yes. And to me, it was a surprise that it had a slight chemical smell. It dissipates in a short amount of time, but I was taken aback the first time I used it and, of course, immediately contacted the company (again 🤓)

They walked me through why the smell is there and it made sense. Thinking back to my original conversation with them, they had explained to me that Hypochlorous Acid is a type of chlorine (HOCI) that is as effective as bleach yet is non-toxic.

Each time I reached out, they were great at re-explaining whatever I was questioning until made sense to me. In retrospect, it is logical that the smell would be similar to Chlorine, and they also reassured me, "it is common for users to reach out asking why the solution smells like chlorine bleach. And that it is NOT toxic bleach that creates the smell, but it is the non-toxic hypochlorous acid (HOCI) smell and will do no harm."

Since it is such a common concern for first-time users, I thought it prudent to include the fact that it does have an initial smell that dissipates quickly, and it is safe.

So there you have it! The Natural Cleaner that is 100% Non-toxic and kills 99.9% of germs. The shortlist of what it eradicates again includes Salmonella, Norovirus, Listeria, STAPH, MRSA, Pseudomonas, and Influenza A.

Plus, it is on the EPA’s List of Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19. (The link is provided for you in references.)

It reduces and eliminates odors. Helps you reduce plastic waste in the landfill and saves money, all the while REDUCING your Body's Toxin Load, helping you care for Your Body's Terrain. The 1 GOAL of all Self Care!

A Few Tips When Using Force of Nature

Simple Storage Tip: I store my base tipped slightly down in the storage basket (shown in the image above) so any remaining drops of water will slowly seep out and dry up.

Using on Glass Surface Tip. (Windows, Shower Glass, and Mirrors) Because Force of Nature does not have chemicals in it for fast evaporation, it needs to be wiped completely. I make sure whatever I spray, I also wipe it completely. If left to evaporate, streaks appear as it dries. To address this, I make sure I wipe until dry.

Next, scum needs a good brushing (anyway), but if you are used to using bleach and watching it disappear, that is not what will happen. The Force of Nature kills bacteria and germs, but there are no toxic chemicals eating away at scum you'll need to scrub for results.

Simple Keeping Track of 2 Weeks Tip: To make my life easy, I make a new bottle on the 1st and the 15th of each Month just so I am not guessing if 2 weeks is over.
